Bailey Chapman is a music producer, composer, songwriter, and mix engineer. Under the moniker MKBLV (pronounced “make-believe”), Bailey creates powerful pieces that span a wide variety of genres and specialize in experimental melody driven pop. Bailey grew up just outside of Austin, TX, and performed in the brass section of a nationally recognized, award-winning high school marching band. Austin is also where he gained a love for blues guitar, and why he still loves playing and composing with his John Mayer Strat to this day.
After graduating Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Contemporary Writing & Production (and a minor in Recording & Engineering), Bailey was diagnosed with Leukemia, a form of cancer. The next two years were an uphill battle as he completed chemotherapy treatment. Bailey is now fully recovered and the disease is in complete remission, with a genetic change in Bailey indicating that the cancer will not return. Bailey channels his experiences into his music and meticulous productions, with gratitude and love as the underlying basis for every piece.
In addition to his solo project, Bailey creates female vocal driven songs with his sister under the artist name Jane From Texas. Bailey also produces, mixes, and engineers for artists locally in LA and around the globe.
