Matt Stabile
Matt is the Software Manager at Spectrasonics, resposible for our whole engineering team and development. Not simply a brilliant engineer, Matt's also a lifelong musician with many years of experience developing audio plugins and processors. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara where he earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. As an undergraduate he also studied North Indian Classical music, played the Sitar, and played bass & guitar in numerous local bands. Matt then entered the Media, Arts, and Technology graduate program, which allowed him to formally combine his passions by studying both audio software engineering and music, earning a master's degree in Multimedia Engineering.
Following graduate school, Matt worked as a Design Engineer and Sound Designer at Line 6 where he developed software models of vintage guitar amplifiers and effects pedals for Line 6's flagship POD HD and Helix Multi-FX processors. He then worked as an audio software engineer at McDSP, where he developed professional EQ, dynamics, and multi-effects plugins used by mixing engineers around the world. At Spectrasonics, Matt works on all aspects of our virtual instrument software development. He is based in Folsom, California with his wife and two kids.
